This is a brief list of harmful ingredients to look out for in your products. Very handy to save and cross reference as and when needed!
Things to check for on your labels: đ
- Parabens AKA methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, thylparaben
- Phthalates AKA diethylphthalate, monoethyl
- Formaldehyde AKA formic aldehyde,
methanethiol - Fragrance/parfum
- Mineral Oil AKA paraffinum, liquidum petrolatum, cera microcristallina, microcrystalline wax, ozokerite, ceresin paraffin, paraffin, synthetic wax
- Butylated Hydroxytoluene AKA BHT
- Aluminium AKA aluminum, aluminum zirconium, tetrachlorohydrex GLY, aluminum chlorohydrate
- PEGs AKA poly(ethylene oxide), poly(oxyethylene).
- Siloxanes AKA Cyclopentasiloxane
- Triclosan AKA hydroxy diphenyl ether
- Plastic micro-beads AKA polyethylene (PE),
polyethylene terephthalate (PET), nylon (PA), polypropylene (PP), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA). - Ethanolamines AKA monoethanolamine (MEA), diethanolamine (DEA), or triethanolamine (TEA).
- Chemical Sunscreens AKA Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, Homosalate
- Sodium Lauryl Sulphate/ Sodium Laureth Sulfate AKA SLS, SLES
