
Any imbalance in the body leads to a shift in pH. A chronic pH shift activates buffer systems, which help maintain stability but come at a cost—triggering oxidative stress. This happens because the body must divert resources from other systems to maintain proper pH balance.
Nutritional needs and eating patterns vary from person to person. We cannot all follow the same diet or eating schedule because our ancestors adapted to different environments for survival. These adaptations are reflected in our diverse eye, hair, and skin colors, as well as our unique body shapes and types. Additionally, people have differences in organ strength, size, and function—some may have a stronger thyroid, while others may have more resilient kidneys, lungs, or adrenal glands.
Our body chemistries and pH levels are also unique. To feel our best, we must find what brings our system into equilibrium. Often, this requires trial and error. Achieving balance improves health and promotes longevity.
Imbalance is defined by deviations in pH and the underlying causes of those deviations. If you test 100 people, you’ll find 100 different results—one person may have weak kidneys, another a sluggish thyroid, and so on. Because of these differences, each individual requires a personalized approach to restore balance.
Ultimately, longevity is about listening to and trusting your own body. No one else can dictate exactly what you should eat or take. Many people have lost touch with their ability to listen to their bodies, yet most still act intuitively and thrive.
There are no universally “good” or “bad” foods or practices—only what is beneficial or harmful for you.
When I test your pH balance, I can determine if it’s imbalanced and identify the root cause.
For example, weight gain can occur when the sympathetic nervous system is suppressed. This may be due to low adrenaline levels or excess serotonin, both of which slow breathing and cause carbon dioxide retention. A lower metabolic rate results, leading to weight gain. There are many factors that can contribute to this, which is why I provide each client with a comprehensive intake form covering diet, environment, and lifestyle. This helps assess your unique health strengths and weaknesses, allowing for a personalized approach to restoring balance.
