For a long time, I believed that we didn’t need to drink much water. I followed the idea that, if we had enough healthy fats in the body, our mitochondria could generate their own water. Add to that the water naturally found in food, and I saw little need for extra drinking. I also thought that the body didn’t require much water for its core functions—and recommended simply drinking when thirsty. I even suggested distilled water as the purest option.
But over time, and through experience and observation, I changed my mind.
Today, I believe we do need to drink more water—at least 2 litres a day, and more on hot days or during physical activity. And not just any water: natural spring water, not distilled.
Why the shift? Because modern life isn’t in harmony with nature anymore. Most of us are unknowingly living in a state of chronic dehydration. Artificial environments, processed foods, screen exposure, and stress have all shifted the way our bodies manage hydration.
One of the biggest revelations for me has been this: natural water is alive.
When water comes from natural, unprocessed sources like a spring, it carries a type of energetic structure—what ancient cultures referred to as chi or life force. Modern science is beginning to validate this, showing that water can actually change structure based on energy, sound, and even emotion.
My approach to health has always been nature-first. I don’t offer pills, potions, or gadgets—just tools to realign with what’s already there. And one of the most powerful tools available to us is proper hydration.
Most people today have low redox potential—meaning their cells have a reduced ability to generate energy and perform vital functions. Hydration with natural spring water is one of the simplest, most effective ways to boost redox and restore healthy cellular energy.
Here’s something incredible: when natural spring water is inside your body and exposed to sunlight in the late afternoon (after 4 PM), it can convert into what’s known as EZ water (Exclusion Zone water). This is a highly structured form of water that acts like a battery for your cells—especially your mitochondria. It enhances your body’s natural energy and supports every biological process, from digestion to mental clarity.
But it’s important to note: not all spring waters are the same.
Take San Pellegrino—a volcanic spring water that should be ideal. But it’s been artificially carbonated, which increases its acidity in the body and disrupts its natural life force. Even if you decarbonate it, its energetic quality—the chi—is lost.
The same goes for coconut water. Fresh from the tree, it’s fantastic. But once it’s been pasteurized and packaged, it’s lifeless. The energy is gone.
Fortunately, I’ve found a beautiful natural spring water here in Spain: Agua de Bejís. It’s clean, mineral-rich, almost completely free of fluoride and chlorine—and full of that life force our bodies thrive on.
