Experience, Approach & Philosophy
I’m Tanya, a trauma-informed counsellor based in the Costa Blanca, with over 35 years of experience supporting individuals and couples through trauma and PTSD, anxiety and depression, stress and overwhelm, anger and emotional regulation, relationship difficulties, and the challenges and transitions that life can bring.
I integrate person-centred counselling with insights from Jungian psychology and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), alongside a philosophical appreciation of balance and nature.
Where appropriate and if requested, I also work as a metabolic health practitioner, providing lifestyle and nutritional guidance as part of a broader wellbeing approach.
Over the years, I’ve worked with people in a wide range of settings, including within the NHS community mental health team in the UK, as well as in ongoing private practice.
I provide a safe, steady space where people feel heard, not judged, and not rushed.
I don’t see counselling as something that “fixes” people. I see it as a way for things to slowly become clearer, for emotional patterns to be understood with more kindness, and for people to reconnect with their own sense of stability and direction.
I also recognise the relationship between emotional wellbeing, metabolism and everyday lifestyle. Where appropriate, we can explore factors such as sleep, nutrition and movement, and how physical health can influence emotional wellbeing.
