Experience, Approach & Philosophy
I’m Tanya, a trauma-informed counsellor with over 35 years of experience supporting people through emotional distress, life challenges, and periods of change.
I integrate person-centred counselling with insights from Jungian psychology and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), alongside a philosophical appreciation of balance and nature. Where appropriate, I also offer lifestyle and nutritional guidance as part of a broader wellbeing approach.
Over the years, I’ve worked with people in a wide range of settings, including within NHS community mental health services in the UK, alongside ongoing private practice.
What has stayed consistent throughout my work is the importance of creating a safe, steady space where people feel heard, not judged, and not rushed.
I don’t see counselling as something that “fixes” people. I see it as a space where things can slowly become clearer, where emotional patterns can be understood with more kindness, and where people can reconnect with their own sense of stability and direction.
Over time, I’ve also developed a strong interest in the relationship between emotional wellbeing, metabolism and everyday lifestyle. This has broadened my understanding of how factors such as sleep, nutrition, stress and physical health can influence emotional wellbeing.
Outside of professional frameworks, I’ve always been interested in the human side of healing—what helps people feel more grounded, more present, and more able to navigate life in a way that feels sustainable.
Based in the Costa Blanca, I now offer both Online and in-person counselling as well as Health & Metabolic Wellbeing Support and a Health & Metabolic Wellbeing Meetup 💛
The same core intention has guided my work from the beginning: to meet people where they are and support them with steadiness, respect and care.
