Please allow me to share the beginnings of Journey to Self or as some call it Spiritual counselling. This is a unique type of therapy to help with deeper trauma or those on a spiritual journey.

As with all journeys we start at the beginning. We can call this Stage Zero also known as recognition.

Think of Stage Zero as preparation. If you were planning to run a marathon you would need to train your body first. At stage zero you are preparing โ€˜YOUโ€™ to expand your heart centre. In this lesson we start with exercises to help clear away and accept past wounds and hurts.

Why is this journey beneficial? Many years ago humans would seek and have access to spiritual guidance and help within their communities: by seeing a priest, witch doctor, shaman, healer or elders. A spiritual mentor was a needed and accepted part of society. Nowadays we have close friends, therapists and healers as our mentors. This is a lot to ask of those close to us. Not many people have time to assist with matters concerning your mind, body and soul. For this reason many people sense an emptiness, a void, as though something is still missing. Together we hope to take you further. Ask and you shall be answered, seek and you will find, knock and it shall open to you. At the end of this spiritual therapy you will discover there is no void, there is no emptiness, there is your authentic perfect self living in love.

Before you start any spiritual or healing work call upon your preferred choice of loving energy for help and guidance: (it could be: angels, Buddha, Christ, Mohammed, Krishna, divine energy or the light). Say the words in your mind. Feel the presence around you. Protecting you.

You have travelled a journey so far in childhood, in adolescence and adulthood and have encountered many other beings and you have had many experiences. Below are examples of how โ€˜loveโ€™ can expand and deflate. Love can be seen as checks and balances. If in your life you feel a love deficit donโ€™t worry you are not alone in this fast moving modern world, deep nurturing love is not so readily available to everyone. We are living in a world of injured souls, the hurt gets carried down generation by generation. To love others, we must start within ourselves, then outwards towards full universal love.

If you can imagine your heart as a deep beautiful space: joy, laughter, love, caring, peace, harmony, imagination, skill, knowledge. Now imagine that space as a big bright white energy. Now imagine every nurturing, loving word or action you have experienced expanding this space. WOW!!! Being with friends, being in love, receiving compliments, being encouraged and helped. This list is endless. Your love space expands when you give or receive loving kindness. You feel more confident and relaxed when you are loved and supported and you are more readily available to share this love with others. Thereby expanding this big bright white energy of LOVE.

If you can imagine every hurt that has blocked love. Image that space again as a big bright white energy being covered over. Past wounds can be many different things: physical abuse, verbal abuse, not being seen or heard, lack of affection, lack of freedom, strict rules, forced beliefs or opinions. This list is endless. Your love space gets covered in veils and each one further covers your heart diminishing its bright loving energy.

As you can see lifeโ€™s experiences imprint on us all and can increase or deplete our radiant energy of LOVE. We all carry some past wounds within us and in order to heal we benefit greatly from clearing these veils.

During the week please follow the exercises below. You will need a journal, notebook or your phone to jot down your experiences and discoveries. If any exercise feels too painful or uncomfortable leave it until you are ready. A bit like a flower, it blossoms in its own time when it is ready, naturally without coercion. All exercises lead to healing and growth, so if you complete one, you are moving forward.

Exercise 1.

Remember a painful time or experience in your life. Remember who you were and how you felt. Now imagine that this past you turns up at your door, abandoned and needs for present day you to take care of this you from your past. You have to take care of this past you everyday for a week.
You can do this in many ways:

You can have a conversation with this you.
You can show love and empathy to this you.
You can do something that this you always wanted to do.
You can encourage this you into healthy habits eating/exercise.
Ask this you how he or she affects you today in your current life?
Ask this you if there is anything that current you can do to make this you feel better?

These questions take time, you can ask them gently in the mind once every day when you are feeling relaxed. The taking care of this you, is current you in a way that this past you needs and wants.

Exercise 2.

Because of these veils/wounds we develop survivor personalities it can be 2 to 8 personalities. Are you a different person at work, at home or out with friends? When are you your true unique authentic loving self? This is when you are the happiest, the most relaxed. When you are a being of light, a being of love.

Keep a journal and note the different YOUโ€™s,
What were you doing?
How many personalities can you find?
Talk to each one, ask questions.
What is it that you like/dislike about each one?
Find the pain and question it.
Be-friend the pain.
Show loving kindness to the hurt.

These exercises form the start of self love. Integrating your whole self towards revealing your true authentic self. When we are authentic, we are in a state of love and harmony. As a recipient of Divine love you can experience a positive personal transformation, developing qualities such as love, peace, selflessness, patience, tolerance and compassion.
